SUMMARY

CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
The campaign is part of Bulgaria’s observance of the “Ден на розовата фланелка” (Pink t-shirt day), inspired by a global movement against bullying.

This initiative is part of the municipal youth plan for 2024, focusing on enhancing the mental and emotional well-being of young people.
IMPLEMENTATION: ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGIES
Several key activities were implemented. These activities included organizing interactive events both online and offline, such as the “Училищни войни VOL. 2” (School wars vol 2) game. This game used an innovative approach inspired by reality TV shows to engage students in discussions and activities related to recognizing and preventing school violence.
The campaign required a range of resources, including financial support for organizing events and developing educational materials, and human resources included volunteers from youth clubs and organizational partners who facilitated activities and discussions. IN adtion, technical resources involved the development of the interactive game and the use of digital platforms for online events.
Partners and stakeholders included local youth organizations, educational institutions, the “П.У.Л.С.” Foundation, and municipal youth councils. Their roles varied from organizing events and providing logistical support to delivering educational content and engaging with students, teachers, and parents.
PROJECT OUTCOMES & LESSONS LEARNED
Firstly, it successfully engaged 650 students across 34 classes in Pernik, Radomir, Trun, and Stara Zagora, effectively raising awareness about bullying and cyberbullying, encouraging students to recognize these issues and seek support.
The project also fostered collaboration among various youth organizations, educational institutions, and local authorities, enhancing community involvement in addressing school violence.
Areas for improvement can include expanding outreach to more schools and communities, ensuring broader participation and impact. Additionally, enhancing evaluation methods to measure long-term behavioral changes and attitudes towards bullying could provide deeper insights into the campaign’s effectiveness.
IMPACT
The project “Подай ръка, не подлагай крак” had a significant impact on the local community by raising awareness about bullying and cyberbullying. It benefited students in Pernik, Radomir, Trun, and Stara Zagora by equipping them with knowledge and strategies to address school violence. Youth played a key role as volunteers and ambassadors, organizing events and promoting campaign messages. Their involvement empowered them to advocate for a respectful and inclusive school environment, fostering leadership and civic responsibility among young people.
