Most of my work with young people is through volunteering: • AFS Greece Intercultural Programs (member of AFS -an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world). It offers teenagers high school exchange programs all over the world Both of my children have been exchange students (Greece to Uruguay and Greece to Spain) and I have been a host parent as well. I worked as Hosting/Sending Coordinator @ Athens local chapter, social media manager, event coordinator, public relations, and on planning educational/recreation activities. I also created/organized and facilitated 2days orientation camps for the exchange students (Greek and foreign participants). All workshops are on the concept of non-formal education with intercultural groups. Based on their purpose (period of the exchange year) they address issues such as self-awareness, intercultural understanding, conflict/nonviolent communication, SDG’s, intercultural competencies, suspend judgment, etc. Through AFS I have participated in 2 international training events for volunteers (in Germany and Denmark) and 4 trainings in Greece Through Erasmus I have participated in 3 trainings o Facilitation/Adaptation/Collaboration/Equity 1&2 (work on non-formal education ) and Digital Mentoring (for ESC volunteers’ mentors) • Women on Top Mentor/writer at the organization empowering/supporting women of all ages (from students/teenagers to older ones). Participated as a mentor on peer to peer 6 month mentoring program and speed mentoring sessions.
