Eurolibrary 2.0
GENERAL INFORMATION
Eurolibrary 2.0 is an Erasmus+ project that builds on the innovative concept of the Human Library, where individuals act as “books,” sharing their personal experiences and stories to foster understanding, break stereotypes, and promote intercultural dialogue.
SUMMARY
Eurolibrary 2 is a project that brings together young workers from different European nations for professional development activities. This initiative helps participants improve their narrative and digital storytelling skills while also encouraging youth engagement and communication education. Participants will have the unique opportunity to collaborate while traveling in campervans. The idea also includes the concept of a human library, in which participants share their stories and experiences with the locals during the road trip. It provides participants with the opportunity to experience a mobile learning environment while also engaging with one another and improving youth involvement.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote Intercultural Dialogue: By bringing together young people from different cultural backgrounds, the project aims to foster mutual understanding and respect. Participants share their personal stories and experiences, helping to break down stereotypes and promote empathy.
- Enhance Creative and Digital Skills: Provides the opportunities to develop and enhance their creative and digital communication skills. Activities such as photography, video creation, and storytelling are integral parts of the project, helping participants to document and share their experiences effectively.
- Community Engagement: Encourages participants to engage with local communities through volunteering and public events. This interaction helps to build stronger community bonds and provides participants with a deeper understanding of local cultures and issues.
- Personal Development: Aims to provide a transformative experience for participants, encouraging personal growth and self-reflection. Through storytelling and interaction with diverse groups, participants can gain new perspectives and insights.
CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
Eurolibrary 2.0 is an Erasmus+ project that is part of a broader initiative to promote cultural exchange, personal development, and community engagement among young people in Europe. After the successful implementation of Eurolibrary 1, was proposed the creation of Eurolibrary 2.0. The idea for Eurolibrary 2.0 emerged from the desire to combine the Human Library concept with the mobility and outreach potential of the Erasmus+ program. By organizing events in multiple locations, the project aims to reach a broader audience and create impactful experiences for both participants and local communities.
IMPLEMENTATION: ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGIES
Activities and Engagement: Eurolibrary 2.0 activities include:
- Human Library Events: Participants share their personal stories with “readers,” fostering dialogue and understanding.
- Community Engagement: Activities such as volunteering at local centers and organizing public events help integrate participants into local communities.
- Skill Development: Workshops on photography, video creation, and other digital media skills enable participants to document and share their experiences.
- Cultural Exchange: Interaction with residents and participation in cultural activities promote mutual understanding and respect.
