SUMMARY
The “Youth Against Discrimination” project is a youth exchange funded by the Deutsch-Türkische Jugendbrücke (Turkey-Germany Youth Bridge), featuring two mobility events. The primary aim is to eliminate prejudices faced by the Turkish minority in Germany and the Turkish-German community in Turkey, promoting intercultural dialogue, understanding, and cooperation to foster a sense of belonging.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote positive evaluations and eliminate prejudices against the Turkish minority in Germany and the Turkish-German community in Turkey.
- Encourage intercultural dialogue and understanding among youth from Turkey and Germany.
- Advocate for non-formal education techniques and EU values among participants.
- Prevent prejudices and discrimination faced by Turkish-Germans in daily life.
- Develop the political and social activities of Turkish-Germans.
- Establish connections with local governments and observe youth participation efforts.
CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
The project was developed to address the prejudices and challenges faced by the Turkish minority in Germany and the Turkish-German community in Turkey. These prejudices hinder social integration, human rights, and equality, making it essential to foster a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
IMPLEMENTATION: ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGIES
- Key Activities: Intercultural dialogue sessions, workshops and discussions based on non-formal learning, observations and interactions with local government initiatives.
- Innovative Methodologies: Use of interactive and participatory approaches to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Resources: Financial, human, and technical resources provided by the Deutsch-Türkische Jugendbrücke and partner organizations.
