SUMMARY
The Youth for a Nation Foundation has carried out a major survey on young people’s civic engagement in the framework of the Erasmus Plus Youth Participation Programme. Over the course of several months in 2022, they met, talked to, organised activities with and, above all, assessed the reasons for the inactivity of our generation on social and public issues that affect them, through a questionnaire survey.
OBJECTIVES
- Help participants to develop together and become active, national and European citizens
- Help participants to acquire the necessary skills,
- To help young people develop the mindsets that will enable them to move their issues forward,
- Young people learn to use the knowledge and skills they acquire in other areas of life,
- One of the Foundation’s objectives is to further develop links between the target group and decision-makers, and to involve young people in public life and in shaping the political process.
CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
The inactivity of the young generation and the lack of explanation of the social and public issues that affect them.
IMPLEMENTATION: ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGIES
Over the summer, more than 1300 young people (aged between 18 and 29) completed the questionnaire in person. They also drew up an 18-point conclusion based on the results, which contains the actions and recommendations they consider necessary.
PROJECT OUTCOMES & LESSONS LEARNED
- Number of participating organisers: 20
- Number of young people who completed the questionnaire: 1392
- Number of participatory activities carried out: 3, for a total of 12 days of youth activities: visits to festivals of great interest to young people (EFOTT, East Fest, SZIN)
- Number of decision-makers involved in the 12 days: 6
IMPACT

This document will allow them to target their support to young people in the future. Young people were involved in the project by filling in questionnaires.
