SUMMARY

In the autumn of 2021, with the help of a few enthusiastic young people, they started recommending films on various platforms that convey the values of their foundation. Their aim was to contribute to the social media feeds on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok with content that communicates values.

OBJECTIVES

The young people who took the initiative have developed a number of competences through their work together, such as organisation, communication, teamwork (social skills), tolerance and digital skills.

They set out to reach at least 1,000 people with each referral, which they have easily exceeded in each case, and have been able to send valuable messages to hundreds of thousands of young people on various social media platforms.

CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND

There is little valuable content on social media, even for young people. The project has helped to improve this.

IMPLEMENTATION: ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGIES

During the implementation process, regular online meetings were held with the young people to watch the films, discuss their content and assign tasks for their processing. This resulted in 33 testimonials, which were published on the Youth for the Nation Foundation’s Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages.

PROJECT OUTCOMES & LESSONS LEARNED

By the end of the project, they had created 33 film recommendations, received more than 107,000 likes on different platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and had a total of 1 million 194,000 views on TikTok.

The films have reached hundreds of thousands of young people, helping them to develop a sense of patriotism and sacrifice for their country, to strengthen their knowledge of history and to learn about the importance of protecting the environment, to strengthen their sense of solidarity, to learn more about the cruelties and methodologies of oppressive regimes, to better understand the world around them and its absurdities, and to learn about the importance of overcoming stereotypes.

IMPACT

The results show the impact on young people. Basically, the result of more substantial online presence and content has been achieved. Young people, as described above, have continuously collaborated in the content analysis and have taken decisions together with the project leader at every step.
